Use and Care of Cycling Bib Shorts

Things to Consider in the Use and Care of Cycling Tights

Cycling tights are produced using special fabrics with high elastane in order to maximize your performance and provide comfort on the saddle.

The designs of the products have dimensions and technical molds suitable for the cyclist anatomy.

The products we offer aim to increase your performance on your rides with different pad structures and features.

Things to Consider in the Use and Care of Cycling Tights

-Avoid hard surfaces, Sora Cycling cycling tights products are produced to provide maximum performance on the bike. High elastane fabrics have 20 times thinner weaves than normal fabrics. Thanks to this knitting, flexibility and resistance abilities are high.

Of course, there will be breaks in your rides, but cycling tights are more sensitive than the clothes you use in daily life, as they are produced using special fabrics for comfort and maximum performance on the saddle. Please note that these products are designed for cycling only.

When you come into contact with a hard surface that will create a sandpaper effect, some of the weaves on the surface of the fabric will be damaged, and the deformation process begins in this way.

For example;
You sat on a bench to rest, there were small splinters on the bench and you didn't notice it. (This case is an example, it can be exemplified in pavement, dry grass or soil surface.)

Let's assume that this surface coincides with the tights pad area where you are in contact with the saddle the most, a few threads broke from the thin knits and received a small damage that is not visible at that moment.

You started to ride your bike. Since the damaged surface is in the area of the pad, these threads will begin to unravel during the contact of the fabric and the seat with each other, and over time, a rough surface will form on the fabric of your tights.

Since cycling tights are made to be used on your bike rides, we recommend that you be more meticulous than usual during your training and races.

-Choose the right size, If you are wearing tight tights, the rate of wear will be high, the fabric will be stretched and subjected to more resistance than normal. For this reason, tights fabric and seams will be deformed in areas that are too tight.

Hanger lengths should suit you, Straps that are tighter than normal will put a load on the seams and there will be openings in the seams over time.

-Correct washing is very important, We recommend that you wash your cycling tights alone or together in a net. Hard surfaces on other clothes can damage your tights with high heat and acceleration during washing.

It will be sufficient to wash in a short program at 30 degrees. Do not spin at high speed.

Never use powder detergents because powder detergents make fabrics hard and lose their properties.

Make sure to wash your tights after each use.

Do not use an iron.

-Wearing before it is completely dry will damage the pads, Cycling tights are high-tech products with special sponges and materials.

When you wear it before it dries, the moisture and liquids remaining in the pad will cause the sponge to lose its properties over time, and then cause the original form of the pad to deteriorate.

Dryers are perfect for fast drying, but It is definitely harmful for your tights. The fabric and pads of tights rotating in the drum at high temperatures will lose their properties.

In order to use the pads for their maximum life, definitely wait for them to dry or do not use the same tights on consecutive days.

Choosing the Right Size in Cycling Tights

-Correct size selection is important, Definitely check our size charts. It is up-to-date and minimizes the margin of error.

One of the most common mistakes when choosing a size is to think that it will be the same size as the other products you use.

Size charts have been created because all products are in different designs and sizes. Each manufacturer creates his own mold and design, and these dimensions are unique.

For cycling tights products, as stated in the size charts basin size decisive measure. After finding your size with your hip measurement, you can understand how your cycling tights will fit on you by checking the other measurements.

For example;

"Your basen size is 94cm You are at the upper limit for the medium size.

This situation will require you to make a selection for the intermediate size. (Valid in lower and upper limits for all sizes)

A user with the above hip size can wear Medium and Large leggings. However, Medium size will fit your body in a fit way, Large will have a comfortable structure. At this point, the situation that needs to be decided is will the hip size of the user get thinner or thicker in the future? (weight gain or weight loss)

If you are going to stay in a fixed size and want the tights to look more fit on you, choose the lower size. "

Straps keep tights in the right position If you are short and have to buy a large size tights for your hips, the straps will be long for you. Long straps mean the tights won't stay where they're supposed to be.  (or vice versa) The Air Knit suspension fabrics we use have sufficient flexibility and resistance. We design the tights we produce in the most accurate dimensions. In case the hangers are not right for you, contact us and we'll assess what can be done about the situation.

Inner leg length you have found your size and you control your inner leg length. The best way to make this measurement is to sit on a flat surface and measure from the middle point where the pad will be located to the measurement in the table. The size is too big, but don't worry if your leg is short for that, the tights fabrics I use have high flexibility and vitality in terms of width and length. You can allow tolerance up to -3/+3 cm. It is possible to adjust this distance after wearing the tights with the leg bands.

New Gummy Bands, After taking your hip measurement correctly, you can measure the position of the bands in the size you found and check whether it is suitable for you. The measurement of the bands has been processed as information on the size charts with optimum level of flexibility. An unworn band is less than the size chart, and the bands will give their full performance when stretched.

When you don't choose the right size, You may think that the pad is in the wrong place because cycling tights pads are positioned in different sizes according to the sizes. If you choose a size smaller than it should be, the pad will be forward or backward, in which case the Gel or Poron92 on the pad will not be able to provide the necessary support to your hip bones.

Forget pads can be a good choice to avoid this situation. (It has equal density on the entire surface and promises high comfort.)

How to Wear Cycling Tights?

-Cycling tights, You can think of it as underwear with designs created with the combination of advanced textile knowledge and cycling culture. You should not wear any extra layers on or inside. The different layers you wear inside will prevent the pads from fulfilling their functions, and what you wear on them will make your contact with the saddle difficult and cause the pad position to change and will not provide the comfort that is the purpose of tights.

-The positioning of the bands is important, Adjust the New Gummy specially padded hem straps to the correct position immediately after wearing. The correct position for short tights is usually between 4 cm and 6 cm above your kneecap. Center connecting seams should center the legs. Thanks to this position, the pad support of your tights will show their full function.

The fact that the leg bands are in the wrong place is the biggest factor that can cause a decrease in comfort or make you feel completely uncomfortable.

 Due to incorrect positioning;
  *When the bands are above or behind the kneecap, it will make you uncomfortable while pedaling.
  *The inside length of the tights can be positioned in the desired area thanks to the flexibility of the fabric, but if it is down, it means that the tights will be pulled down and the pad changes its position.
  *If it is higher than necessary, it will cause the fabric to be compressed too much and the pad to buckle upwards, which will create a jam under your saddle.

Before the hangers Bring your cycling tights right where they need to be on your waist. In this way, the straps will be in the correct position at the level of your shoulders and you will not need to fix them again.

3/4 tights and longs different from short tights. Blizzard and 3/4 Pro Cycling tights designs are designed to relieve movement in the joints. The positions of the hem tapes and long tights ends will ensure that the seam lines are in the correct area.
